Lancashire Cup Champions 2019
Morecambe Bay Academy’s Year 7 football team won the Lancashire Schools Football Association under 12s final on Monday 20th May 2019.
Having qualified for the finals, by beating some strong teams from across the whole of Lancashire, Morecambe Bay Academy competed against the other qualifying teams, Haslingden High School, Archbishop Temple High School and St Mary’s High School in the finals. Morecambe Bay Academy were convincing overall champions beating Haslingden High School 2-1 and both Archbishop Temple High School and St Mary’s High School 3-0. This follows previous school success in the Lancashire Schools Cup with wins in 2018 for Year 8 and Year 9 in 2017.
The team, captained by George Abel, have shown excellent attitude and determination throughout the year and are deserved winners.
